A vulnerability in Twitter’s Android app gave hackers a way to read your private messages and take over your account. Users are called to update the app as quickly as possible.
The social network notifies users of the Android app in an email. “We recently found a vulnerability within Twitter for Android that could allow malicious private information to be accessed and served your account,” the company said.
An attacker could send both tweets and private messages in your name. For this, the attack code had to be injected into protected areas of the app via what Twitter calls a “complicated process”.
