Tomorrow, US President Joe Biden will announce measures to stem gun violence in his country. Among other things, the president plans to introduce stricter controls on the purchase of improvised firearms without a serial number, so-called ghost rifles.
That writes the American news website Politico based on government sources. It is not yet clear what the president is planning.
Those involved think the president will ban the purchase of firearms for people who have been convicted of domestic violence. National rules may also be introduced to safely store weapons at home.
More than 100 Democratic MPs sent their fellow party member Biden a letter last week urging action against a weapon type used in a shooting in the state of Colorado. Last month, ten people were killed.
