In Athens, Thessaloniki and other parts of Greece, a night clock applies from Saturday morning to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
People are only allowed outside between 00.30 and 05.00 if they have a good reason to do so. Wearing a mouth mask outdoors will be mandatory.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced the measures in a televised address. The country reported 882 new infections and 15 deaths on Thursday.
In total, about 29,000 infections have been reported in Greece. The number of deaths is low compared to many other European countries.
