US President Donald Trump has speculated on Twitter about postponing the end of this year’s US presidential election.
The elections in which Trump will take on Democratic candidate Joe Biden would take place in November. But they could end in “the most fraudulent elections” in history, thanks to the coronavirus, Trump said today, alluding to a postponement to yet to be announced.
“Postpone election until people can vote in a decent and safe manner?” Said Trump.
The president, like many Republican supporters, has previously expressed his dislike of votes by mail. In some states, exceptions may request such a postal vote, in others it is fully introduced. Trump previously threatened Democratic governors of Michigan and Nevada with less federal money if they simplified postal voting.
